MOTOR BRAKE MODULE WITH

Most
woodwork machine users and manufacturers are probably aware that
the PUWER 98 regulations regarding the use and supply of new and
refurbished woodworking machinery, requires that a reliable form
of braking must be fitted.
One
form of braking system recommended by PUWER 98 is, DC injection braking. This form of braking is both cost effective and easy to
retrofit to existing machinery. Being compact in design and wear
free, It is easy to install and offers a long maintenance free life
for the braking system.
Regulation
15 of PUWER 98 (Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations),
requires that employers comply with the ACOP (Approved Code Of Practice)
for the safe use of woodworking machinery and perform a risk assessment,
to determine if retrofit braking is required, to bring existing
equipment to a "Safe condition in a safe manner". The ACOP lists
several types of machine that with very few exceptions will require
a form of braking to be fitted to them. It also lays down a compliance
timetable for certain specified classes of machine. Further details
